We set out today simply aiming to gain more mat experience - and we returned with far more than that.
Huge congratulations to Yingtai, who not only won 1st place in his kata category at the Welsh Karate League, but also earned the Champion of Champions trophy for the highest accumulated points in his division. An incredible achievement!
A massive well done to Elif, Viraaj, Hazel and Laurel for stepping up and raising their level in every round. Each of you delivered performances beyond expectations - showing real progress, learning valuable lessons, and gaining the kind of experience that truly moves your karate forward.
A special mention goes to Viraaj, who produced his strongest kumite performance yet. We couldn’t be prouder.
Unfortunately, Isaac became ill and couldn’t compete today - but there will be plenty of opportunities next year.
And congratulations to Natalie, who gained more invaluable refereeing experience, working closely with her mentor throughout the day - another step forward in her development.
Thank you to the organisers for a fantastic event, and to everyone who supported our mini team today. What a brilliant day all round!
