We often travel to seminars, squad sessions and competitions all across the country and abroad (even Japan!!!) and we regularly host events here in Gloucestershire too (see the events page).

We train with everyone and anyone! In fact, you will be encouraged to train with different instructors as they all have something different to offer. Students from different clubs often train with us on a regular basis or while staying in the area.

Our passion for karate is infectious and our sessions are carefully planned to ensure everyone gets the most out of their training whatever the grade they hold. All our class sizes are purposely small to allow for individual feedback. This holistic approach means we provide support that looks at the whole person, their physical, emotional, social and spiritual well-being.

Sonchō Karate Club is a not-for-profit community interest company, where we invest back in our members and the local community. We don't teach for the income, we teach for the outcome. We have mentors who support our instructors and coaches and help them advance on their karate path, as well as all our students and participants. We are a community led, politics free club and are proud of the friendly, welcoming feel in all our sessions. Sonchō Karate Club is also an Associate Member of the Anti-Bullying Alliance.

All our instructors, visiting instructors, coaches and helpers have had their enhanced DBS checks done, are fully insured, first aid trained and are registered with our association (HDKI GB).
