Mock kyu gradings at Soncho Karate Club in Cheltenham and Gloucester dojos

This week’s sessions at Soncho Karate Club worked through all 3 Ks of the grading syllabus, followed by a mock grading after each session in Cheltenham and Gloucester to check on everyone’s progress. It was fantastic to see how far you’ve all come, everyone demonstrated noticeable improvement and a great mindset throughout!

Congratulations to those who have been invited to grade next month - you’ve demonstrated clear progress and improvement. Be sure to take on the feedback from the senior grades and sharpen those finer points in the coming weeks.

A big thank you to our senior grades for offering their insight and support, it’s always appreciated and makes a real difference.

Meanwhile, our senior grades sessions focused on Kanku Dai some more, with particular attention to some of the most technically demanding sections of the kata. We concentrated on refining these sequences, placing emphasis on connection, flow, and the internal feel of each movement.

We have a new student of the month - Andrea - a well-deserved recognition. We’re confident that Andrea has many great achievements ahead in the months to come.

Finally, it has been a real pleasure to have Smaira and Tej train with us while on holiday in England, we wish them all the very best and we look forward to seeing them again when they’re around.
